This week’s feature soundtrack is from World of Warcraft.
With World of Warcraft Classic rapidly approaching and my own inconceivable hype building for this title, I wanted to re-listen to the amazing soundtrack of this game.
WoW is one of those games that just teases my mind in all the best ways. I put hundreds of hours of my life into this game, becoming hooked and forming friendships that my formative self never thought possible.
It earned me respect as a teenager in a world that didn’t really give a lot of respect to teenagers at the time, and my ability to deliver on my class and show that I was a team player really helped me develop into the person I am today.
The soundtrack is composed by Jason Hayes, Tracy W. Bush, Derek Duke, and Glenn Stafford. It’s an orchestral masterpiece in its own rite, with thundering drums, light strings and beautifully developed ambiance that makes the world really come alive. It’s such a unique and wonderful soundtrack that I feel you’re missing out if you’ve not just stopped and listened.
