Big things are coming up soon. I wish I could say more, but I think I can at the very least share with you some life updates.
Life’s been hectic. It’s pretty unusual for me to go super-deep into my personal life, since my preference is to discuss games or deep-dive into weird human behaviors that are harmful and should stop. However, it’s my blog and I do what I want.
I’m busy. I’ve got a lot of content creation efforts going on — from the live streams on Mixer (and soon on other platforms again), to the ICT Podcast, this blog, and a bunch of stuff related to the “big things” I can’t talk about — that keep me busy. A lot of pokers in the fire.
To add to all of that, I work full-time, I am happily married to my soulmate and SO, and have two dogs whom I neglect way more than I wish I did, and I also do Dungeons & Dragons nights on Tuesdays at my local comic store with some friends. I guess you could say I keep busy, but that’s a bit of an understatement some days.
I’ll say it right now – I’m not a fan of my job. It pays the bills, and the people I work with are nice enough, but it definitely doesn’t do me any favors in terms of making me feel fulfilled. There’s a lot of asshattery that goes on (“asshattery” being a technical term).
For those who don’t know, I’m an Application Server Administrator for an insurance company. This means I handle code deploys, maintain application servers, bridge the gap between developer and infrastructure, and the like. It’s a pretty cool job, and was way more fulfilling when I first started. But I’m not here to complain about that (at the moment, anyways).
I’m working toward being able to do this full-time. By “this,” I mean blogging, podcasting, live streaming; the works. And with your support maybe it’ll happen someday. Who knows? I’m truly unsure of whether people actually like what I do; some folks tell me I do well, some people just sort of see me as a benign source of mindless entertainment. I try to walk the line between insightful and silly. It’s a difficult path the tread.
That said, I am hugely happy with my content creation efforts. My viewership on the live stream isn’t incredible, but is growing. The podcast is doing fairly well, and growing also. The blog has had a couple decent hits. It’s been nice thus far; I feel like I’ve finally found what I am meant to do. And that leads me to Big Things. Big Things I can’t talk about yet. But Big Things nonetheless.
I’m excited about the Big Things. Hopefully I’ll have more to share with you at the end of this week. And hopefully these Big Things will help me accomplish my goal of full-time content creator status.
Thanks for supporting me. Thanks for being part of what I do. I’m truly grateful, and this is just the first step. What’s coming is going to blow your mind.
